Our very own Dr. Megan Kuba, orthopedic surgeon, had the honor of being invited to Keanuenue Pediatrics to host a splinting workshop for their team!

Splinting workshops like this are essential—giving healthcare professionals valuable hands-on experience in treating fractures while helping prevent further injury.

As the 63rd Annual Merrie Monarch Festival takes place, we proudly pay tribute to King David Kalākaua, also known as the Merrie Monarch, and was the only king to be a Shriner.

Kiaʻi, a Native Hawaiian and Shriners Children’s Hawaiʻi patient ambassador, shares his appreciation for King Kalākaua and reflects on how the king’s reign inspired a cultural renaissance in Hawaiian arts. That enduring legacy continues to live on through this celebrated Festival. 🌺

It was a popping good time! 🍿 The energy was sweet and savory as our philanthropy team officially launched our 2026 Employee Giving Campaign with a popcorn bar, prizes, and a theme that resonates: "A Kernel of Kindness."

Employees who donated added their name to a kernel on our campaign banner, symbolizing our collective impact. Huge mahalo to our staff for your unwavering dedication - our kids receive the best care because of you! ❤️

Special thanks to our partners Chick-fil-A Ala Moana and the newly open Chick-fil-A Kapiʻolani for recognizing our staff’s hard work and generosity with a sweet treat.

Today may be the last day of National Social Work Month, but it's definitely not the last time we extend our gratitude to the tireless work of our social workers and care managers! It is always heartwarming to hear the many positive comments we receive from patient families who acknowledge how our social workers care about their overall well being and have helped them overcome a variety of challenges.

To celebrate this noble profession, our Care Management team hosted a special "Brownie Sundae" bar today for staff, patients and visitors with smiles abound! Mahalo to our social workers for their commitment towards helping our keiki and families live their best lives!

Did you know that Shriners Children’s Hawaii has Certified Athletic Trainers (ATCs) as part of our Sports Medicine team?

In celebration of National Athletic Trainers Month, our ATCs hosted a special employee education event today to demonstrate and discuss many of the tools and techniques they use on the field serving student athletes, helping them get back in the game quicker and safer! Dozens of staff learned first-hand how our ATCs evaluate and treat various aches, strains and pains, with many participants with joint or muscle aches leaving the session feeling 100x better!

It’s that time of year again for our Annual Education Fair!

In celebration of teamwork, dedication, and lifelong learning, each department at Shriners Children’s Hawaiʻi created their own education boards showcasing their teams and the incredible work they do every day. Staff had the chance to explore the displays, learn from one another, and discover how each department plays a vital role in our shared mission of providing the highest quality of care for our keiki.

We were thrilled to welcome some incredible local food vendors to campus for our Shriners Children’s Aloha Market. Staff, patients, and visitors happily lined up to enjoy empanadas, mochi, sweet treats, and refreshing matcha drinks — a delicious way to brighten the day!

Mahalo to Guaiqueri Empanadas, Honolulu Mochi, Sweet Addictions By Mel, and Cai's Cafe for filling our stomachs and fueling our day with so much flavor and aloha! 😋

Our patients brought the luck (and the green!) to Recreation Therapy and had a wonderful time creating four‑leaf clover ornaments and building their own leprechaun traps. Smiles, creativity, and plenty of festive fun all around! 💚
