Done & done!

Done & done!

Last Friday, the Trump Administration announced additional mass layoffs at the Department of Education, eliminating more than half of the Department's staff since the start of the Administration. These layoffs have decimated the Department’s ability to fulfill its legally mandated obligations to schools and families. For instance, the Office of Special Education Programs now has only two staff members to support the implementation of the IDEA for approximately 7.5 million students and their families.

Earlier this year, NASP passed a resolution affirming the critical importance of a comprehensive, strategic federal role in public education, including maintaining a "fully funded, staffed, and empowered U.S. Department of Education." Join us, and tell Congress how these mass layoffs harm our students and communities, and urge them to oppose these actions.
