Motivational Mondays:
As The SuperHuman Trainer, I believe in long-term success. I also believe that in order to achieve long-term success, it will require long-term work. There's no shortcut around it. There's no app, hack or guru out there that can prove otherwise.

This applies to EVERYTHING. Think about it for a second. You can't learn a language in 3 months. You can't build wealth in 3 months. You can't be a artisan/craftsman in 3 months. You can't break an addiction in 3 months. You can't lose fat/weight in 3 months. You can't build muscle in 3 months...Get the picture?

All of the aforementioned is "possible" and can be "good for the moment", but it either 1) doesn't last long, or 2) requires a longer time to see results. You simply MUST put the work in. It can't get any simpler than that. Yes, it is mundane. Yes, it's unsexy. Yes, it's unexciting. Yes, it takes forever. At the end of the day, the work must get done. Let's get to work.

Super Sundays:
As The SuperHuman Trainer, I like to bake. Cooking is one thing. Baking is another. Most people can cook and get away with throwing things together, as long as it's decently edible. Baking is a whole different ballgame; you can't wing it and expect good results.

That's why I love doing it, besides creating some culinary goodness for me and my family. It's a challenging realm, for sure. Here, I made my newly refined Ramos Bread Pudding. It's a work in-progress, but it's getting better and better each time. LMK if you want the recipe. Happy Sunday y'all!

Super Saturdays:
As The SuperHuman Trainer, I am indeed a dreamer. I am a firm believer that dreams do come true. At the same time, I know that dreams don't just happen "just like that". In order for dreams to come true, there's some work that needs to be done.

In the same light as miracles, dreams also need a hand. It starts with a dream, but the work needs to be done. As Vincent Van Gogh says, "I dream of painting, and then I paint my dream..." He sees it in his mind first, takes action to make it happen, and then materializes it into reality. As a result, he created works of art that made a historical impact on the world.

The point is, dreams are real if you make them real. Dreams are fake if you don't believe in them and take no action. Dreams do change. Dreams do get crushed. Dreams do get forgotten. Regardless, dreams do exist, they are real, and they do come true if you are ready to live them. Happy Saturday y'all!

Foodie Fridays:
As The SuperHuman Trainer, I am an avid and true foodie. I love food. I have a passion for food. I can bake, cook and eat food at will. At the same time, I acknowledge and recognize that what I put into my body is my full responsibility.

With that said, I'm gonna punish these boxes of goodness from today. I can and will eat these goodies, without guilt, without hesitation. I know that I will burn off the excessive amount of calories that I am about to consume, because I am willing to put in the hard work required to do so. That's one of the best perks of being in good, physical shape at a good physical fitness level.

Case and point, when it comes to weight management, it all boils down to this:

Energy In vs. Energy Out

That's it. It's as simple as that. Yes, if you have a genetic predisposition or preexisting condition that affects your bioavailability and overall metabolic function, there are exceptions to the rule. Generally, it's a simple concept.

With that said, I have a lot of work to do for the next 2 days, starting today. Food is one the finest joys of life. Enjoy it. Celebrate it. Appreciate it. Share it. Love it. Eat it.

Athletic Thursdays:
As The SuperHuman Trainer, I am not only a versatile practitioner of different modalities of training, but I am also diverse in a wide variety of athletics. Sports are specific to the realm of athletics, and there are many categories/subcategories that I engage in.

Though there are many sports that I have the skills & abilities to perform, I personally love baseball, basketball, boxing, jiu-jitsu, mixed-martial arts (MMA), Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting and wrestling.

To be candid, I suck at golf, tennis, and any other sport in the water. I actually would like to try my hand at archery, curling and horse racing. For now, Wii Sports will do...

It is important to know that athletics and sports have different definitions. Peep them below:

Athletics - physical sports and games of any kind.

Sports - an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against one another.

So why am I bringing this up? Exercise and "working out" in the gym isn't the only way towards better health, fitness and wellness. Engaging in sports, especially team sports, is just as good, and in many ways, better than simply training in a gym setting. There are a chock full of benefits you get from sports, regardless of age or gender.

So think about doing a sport. Do your research. Explore your options. Talk with family and friends. Seek out a coach. You have many choices. Although we are amidst a pandemic, this is still possible. I will talk more about this on one of my future podcast episodes. Stay tuned.

Workout Wednesdays:
As The SuperHuman Trainer, I am super-confident in myself and my ability to achieve any goal I set forth. Yes, I do make mistakes. Yes, things don't always go to plan. Yes, I even fail. I fail a lot. That doesn't stop me. It will not stop me from getting what I want.

I am able to do this by establishing these 3 simple things: Mindset, Plan and Work. It's as simple as that:

Mindset: It all begins in the mind. Decide what you want. Decide how bad you want it. Decide that you want to do it. Decide that you must do it. Decide that you will do it.

Plan: Create an action plan. Create Small Action Steps to do it. “When in doubt, just take the next teeny, tiny, small step.” - Map everything out, from beginning to end. Keep it simple.

Work: Execute the plan. Do it. Do the work. Do something. Do anything. Do what it takes. Get it done.

As simple as that sounds, it boggles my mind how many people still don't do it. You don't need to Google it. You don't need to watch YouTube videos to learn how to do it. You don't need an app for it. You just need to be like Nike, just do it. It really is that simple. It really is. Yes, really...

Motivation Mondays:
As The SuperHuman Trainer, I make a conscious, relentless effort to train in almost every modality of exercise, strength and conditioning, sports, and martial art that I possibly can. Whether it's slow steady-state long-distance running, sprinting, jump roping, Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Kettlebells, Free Weights, Resistance Bands, Suspension Training, Calisthenics, Yoga, Aerobics, Boxing, or even kickboxing (and so much more), I'm always game to push myself to be versatile, to be adaptable, to do things I'm not comfortable with. 'Til this day, I am still an proactive practitioner, not someone who talks about it or used to do it a long time ago. That's just like kickin' old war stories or talking about the golden years of high school...

There are people out there who interpret “proactive” to mean pushy, aggressive, cocky, arrogant or insensitive; but that isn’t the case at all. I, too, was guilty of believing this. I have come to realize that proactive people aren’t pushy. They are smart. They value drive. They read reality. They know what’s needed and make adjustments according to the current situation. They adapt.

With that said, I am confident and proud as The SuperHuman Trainer to be able to actively practice what I preach, and I actively preach to my V.I.P. Clientele, my allied-health professional clients, their patients, my family, my friends, and especially, to all of you out there in social media land. I walk the talk. Talk the walk. Share the talk. Share the walk. Walk with me...

Super Saturdays: Hiking Edition
As The SuperHuman Trainer, I do enjoy my days off. Regardless of this, I always find ways to get moments of training in, whether it's climbing 3 steps at a time going up the stairs to my apartment, doing my all-time favorite Push-Ups in-between laundry and business work on the laptop, or even doing isometric air squats at the top of a Maili Pillbox hike. So, I technically don't take any days off, LOL!

In order to be great, find ways to inject moments of hard work into your day. They don't have to last an hour, or be structured in sets & reps. Just find simple things to do throughout your days. Every little bit counts. It will compound over time. You'll see the results over time. Trust me.

Workout Wednesdays:
As The SuperHuman Trainer, I make choices that are smart, risky, wise, and occasionally, dumb (Yes, I make dumb choices too). Your choices will result in an outcome, a result that can either be beneficial or detrimental. That's why it is important to be aware, cognizant and prepared for the choices you make in life. In order for anything to happen in life, you must actually make a choice first.

The power to choose can happen IMMEDIATELY. Choosing is instantaneous. The process that follows is more lengthy. That process cannot and will not happen unless you make a choice first. Choosing begins in your mind.

This applies to everything in life. You can choose to be irritated at the person that cut you off in traffic. You can choose to be sad when you break a nail. You can choose to be funny when you feel silly. You can choose to be happy amidst this pandemic. It's all on you. No one outside of you can make you choose what you feel and what's best for you. No one but you has the power to choose.

Speaking of choice, health and fitness is no exception. You can choose to be healthy. You can choose to be fit. After that, you can choose to take small action steps toward being healthy and fit. Choose wisely. Choose to do it now.

Happy National Coffee Day:
As The SuperHuman Trainer, I do love my coffee. I will admit, I was late to the party; I only started drinking coffee consistently when I was in my early 30's. I am 40 years old now...(yes, that's right).

I digress, besides the taste and aroma, coffee has many health benefits. It's not just because of the caffeine, which is a natural nootropic with dopaminergic effects on it's own, but here are other benefits that you may or may not already know about coffee:

☕ Increased Focus
☕ Increased Physical Performance
☕ Increased Longevity
☕ Increased Dopamine Levels
☕ Increased Fatty Acid Utilization
☕ Increased Mood
☕ Increased Glycogen Restoration
☕ Increased Glucose Utilization
☕ Decreased Risk of Diabetes
☕ Decreased Risk of Death (from multiple causes)
☕ Decreased Onset of Alzheimers
☕ Decreased Chance of Parkinson's
☕ Decreased Breakage of DNA Strands
☕ Decreased Chances of Colon Cancer
☕ And much more...

This is assuming you choose a high-quality, certified organic coffee that is free of mycotoxins and pesticides, and is taken at proper dosages. This is also assuming that you are not bombarding your coffee with creamers, milks, sugars, flavors, syrups, whipped cream, and any other artificial ingredients in excess. Quite honestly, I always get mine with some whipped cream, but I burn that off really easy.

Remember, caffeine is technically a "drug", and like any drug, it could become habit-forming and addicting. So be sure to be mindful of your intake and consumption of coffee. If you would like take a deeper dive or need recommendations on coffee, just shoot me a quick DM/IM. Happy National Coffee Day!
