Having an AED on the wall means nothing if nobody knows how to use it.
Sacred Heart just changed that.
Today we trained their community. Real hands. Real devices. Real confidence. Not a PowerPoint. Not a pamphlet. An actual training where people walked out knowing exactly what to do if someone collapses in front of them.
That is the difference between an AED program and an AED culture.
The device is step one. The people are step two. Most organizations stop at step one.
If your team has AEDs but has never trained on them, you have half a program.
We fix that.
Follow to see how we build life safety culture across Hawaii.

Most AEDs in Hawaii will fail when it matters most.
Not because they are broken. Because nobody checked them.
An initial AED inspection takes minutes. We stop by your location, open every cabinet, and verify every device. Serial numbers. Pad expiration dates. Battery status. We take notes on everything.
Having an AED on the wall is not the finish line. It is the starting point.
The finish line is knowing that device will actually turn on, analyze, and shock when someone’s life depends on it.
If you are not sure your devices are ready, that uncertainty is the problem.
Send us a message. We come to you.
Follow for AED inspection, maintenance, and training across Hawaii.

Most people have no idea what an AED inspection actually looks like.
It is not just glancing at a cabinet.
We walk the entire property. Every floor. Every AED. We check the device, the pads, the battery, the accessories, and whether your site is actually compliant.
At the end you get a full report and real options. Not guesswork.
One missed inspection is all it takes for a device to fail when someone needs it most.
If you cannot remember the last time your AEDs were checked, that is your answer.
Save this. Tag your safety manager. Or send us a message and we will come to you.

Your AED might look ready.
But is it really.

If you still have a LIFEPAK CR Plus or EXPRESS, this matters.

Key accessories for these models are being discontinued in February 2026.
Pads and CHARGE-PAK availability is already tightening.

No pads. No charge. No shock.

An AED on the wall can feel reassuring.
Until the day it is needed and cannot perform.

This is not about fear.
It is about planning while options still exist.

If you manage AEDs for your workplace, school, jobsite, or facility, now is the time to review your readiness and plan the next step.

Swipe through to understand what to check and why it matters.

Questions are welcome.
Preparedness starts with awareness.

This is what our work really looks like.

Sitting down with people. Listening to real concerns. Answering honest questions about what to do when an AED is truly needed.

Most people think the hardest part is the device.
In reality, it’s confidence.

That’s why we offer free monthly AED and CPR awareness sessions at the airport.
No pressure. No sales. Just real conversations and hands-on practice so people don’t freeze when it’s real.

Preparedness starts with asking questions.
Confidence grows when you practice.

If you want to join a session or bring this kind of readiness to your team, reach out anytime.

Sharing Knowledge, Saving Lives

In the State of Hawaii, the survival rate for sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is only about 12%, and less than 3 out of 10 people in Hawaii know how to do good quality chest compressions. We have 2 minutes to start some type of intervention before the brain starts to die. Every minute that we wait, the victim’s chance of survival decreases by 10%. Studies find that if compressions are started, and an AED can be applied within the first 2 minutes of cardiac arrest, the person goes from a 10% chance of survival to a 90% chance of survival.

For the past 14 years, AED Institute has managed the Public Access to Defibrillation (PAD) program at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, with more than a 70% save rate. AED Institute also manages the AED Program for the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Transportation-Harbors Devision, as well as various businesses and schools across the State of Hawaii.
