⭐️ We are proud to support the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii with a $50,000 grant to expand youth workforce development and education programs on Oahu and Kauai. This funding will help create a new Career Pathways director role to provide teens with the tools, guidance, and confidence they need to thrive beyond high school.

From honoring survivors and caregivers to walking in solidarity under the stars, our team was deeply moved by the spirit of hope and resilience that filled the event. Every step we took helped support the American Cancer Society’s mission to fund life-saving research and patient care programs.

Jeremy Masiclat is a hospital aide in Telemetry at Moanalua Medical Center and has been with Kaiser for two years:

“I put myself in my patients’ position. How would I want to be treated? Or if that patient was my son, how would I treat them? I put myself into their position first and then I just do what I got to do to help them out. Sometimes they’re alone. I work night shift. Sometimes they come from different islands and so they’re by themselves. So I feel what they’re feeling. If I’m here and all my relatives are out there, I don’t want to be neglected — especially if I don’t feel good.

For me, every time I go home, I want to feel accomplished. I don’t want to go home knowing that there’s somebody that I didn’t take care of or I left someone out.

One thing I learned working at the hospital is that I learned to appreciate life more. I learn to say ‘I love you’ to the people I love everyday. I call my mom, my sister, and my grandma. Because you’re not sure what will happen. You only live once and you just got to do it day by day. I’m just glad that for the people who feel alone at night … I’m just glad that I’m able to hold their hand and help them out a little bit. And when they remember me and say my name, it feels good. I feel accomplished.”
