Thank you for being my doula and for helping me get through one of the scariest, most exciting times of my life. Your counsel got me through the doubts and fears I had of being an adequate mother. the most amazing midwife ever, thank you for holding space for me to be my complete self in our appointments and for not judging me, or my mom, when we over shared. Thank you for being an ear for my mom and I when we shared any concerns about my birth (and everything else). Thank you .the.world for also being there to comfort my concerns and helping me to feel more prepared for my birth journey. my best friend, thank you for putting aside your own anxiety and being there and literally holding my hand (and my leg) as I gave birth. Thank you for ALWAYS being there for me spiritually and emotionally. I love you and I’m so love full to call you Pai’s Godmother. For my mom, thank you for also being there (and for holding my other leg) during the birth of your first grandchild. Thank you for trusting me and my midwife Sharon when she told you I could safely give birth naturally. Thank you for being my mother every moment of every day 💓

Words can’t describe the whirlwind of emotions it’s been watching you grow over this last year. My little chief, my Haupia, my Moon, my daughter… I’m abundantly blessed to be your mother and to have acted as your portal back into this World. You’ve forever changed my life and as I always say, you’re the best thing I’ve ever done. Give thanks to all who joined us to mark this day and to my Auntie for giving Pia such a powerful blessing over her spirit. To my mother who encouraged me through my pregnancy, helped me make our birth broom, adorned Pia’s birth altar with sea water and shells from Gullah land, I love you and am so thankful for your presence to share my motherhood journey. As always, infinite thanks and blessings to HIM 🦁 Rastafari helped open my heart and the birth of my daughter has filled it with so much joy and love 💛 Thank you .phillips.photo for being there to document some of the most life changing moments in our lives 💖

It’s a rainy uprising in Waikiki ☺️ I decided to make myself breakfast using the produce I got from the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet yesterday. Soursop, chili mango, star fruit, passion fruit, and avocado toast with tomatoes, onion, and a spicy herb blend (I brought with me from CA), with strawberry jam on whole wheat bread 🤤🤤🤤 . .
