🌎 This Earth Day, remember: the health of our planet and the health of our fertility are deeply connected.

Modern research shows that environmental exposures can influence reproductive health in both women and men.

Here are three science-backed environmental factors that impact fertility:

🧬 Endocrine-disrupting chemicals
Compounds found in plastics, cosmetics, pesticides, and some food packaging can interfere with hormones that regulate ovulation and s***m production.
🌫️ Air pollution
Studies link higher exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) with reduced IVF success rates, lower s***m quality, and increased miscarriage risk.
🥦 Environmental nutrition
Diets rich in whole foods, antioxidants, and low-toxin preparation methods are associated with improved egg quality, s***m health, and embryo development.

The encouraging news:

Small lifestyle changes can reduce exposure and support reproductive health.

✔ Choose glass or stainless steel instead of plastic when possible
✔ Wash produce thoroughly or choose organic for high-pesticide foods
✔ Limit fragrances and personal products containing phthalates or parabens
✔ Focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods

At Fertility Institute of Hawaii, we believe fertility care should look beyond the laboratory and consider the environment our patients live in every day.

Because protecting the planet also helps protect the next generation. 🌱

Happy National Infertility Awareness Week! 🧡
Dr. Karmon is here to break down the facts about AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone).

While AMH levels naturally decline with age, a low level does not mean a live birth is impossible. Treatments are available to help overcome low AMH, including:

📌 Ovulation induction
📌 IUI
📌 In-vitro fertilization (IVF)

If you have questions about your fertility or AMH levels, reach out to a fertility specialist for a consultation today! 📲 Text us at 808-855-6932.

Happy National Infertility Awareness Week! 🧡

Dr. Frattarelli highlights the role of male fertility.

In heterosexual couples facing challenges:
📌 The male component is the sole cause 1/3 of the time.
📌 Both partners contribute in another 1/3 of cases.

Because infertility is a journey for the couple, Dr. Frattarelli emphasizes that evaluating both partners is key to the proper treatment.
