Everybody has bad days now and then. It’s part of life and life can get tough.

In a beautiful way, we often gain our deepest wisdom through these moments of struggle. After all, the mud and muck can be the most fertile habitat for fresh new seeds to grow...

Thankfully, the natural world holds a number of herbs that are extremely effective at lifting your mood and keeping the doldrums away when things aren’t going your way.

Here are 3 herbs that are proven to lift your mood in the moment, and also improve long term mental health!

#1 Lemon Balm - (Melissa officinalis)

Lemon Balm is clinically proven to help you focus. It is nutritive and restorative to the nervous system. Plus, it calms down heart palpitations and nervous stomach aches.

Long term, it protects your brain from neurodegenerative disease.

#2 Motherwort - (Leonurus cardiaca)

Classically used for people who get irritable when they are emotional, motherwort is a tonic for your heart AND your nerves.

Long term, it protects you from heart disease that is worsened by stress hormones.

#3 St. John’s Wort - (Hypericum perforatum)

This gorgeous summer flower is commonly used for seasonal depression.

Long term, it helps restore the nervous system by supporting it with nutrients and vitamins.

A great way to prepare all 3 of these mood-lifting herbs...

Lemon balm and Motherwort can be steeped together as a powerful tea that is pleasantly propped up by a St. John’s Wort tincture — you can find all these ingredients at a local health food store.

*Make sure to follow the dosage instructions on the St. John’s Wort.

These 3 healing plants are the golden trio to bring a person back into balance. The tea can be taken daily and the tincture can be added for extra support on harder days.

Once you start walking down the herbal medicine path, a whole new realm of wellness opens itself up to you! What a gift :)

Cooling breath! If you can’t curl your tongue - smile with teeth lightly touching and breath in

Sitali Pranayam is a cooling breath that involves inhaling the breath through the curl of the tongue. We breathe as if “drinking” in moisture-rich air, which cools us down – physically and emotionally.

This practice also reduces fatigue, bad breath, fevers, and high blood pressure.

🟠 Posture: Sit in an Easy Pose, with a light jalandhar bandh.

🟠 Breath: Curl the tongue into a "U," and stick it just outside of the lips. Inhale deeply through the rolled tongue, exhale through the nose.

Power of water

New satellite imagery shows flooding in Yellowstone altered the river's course A vital bridge and road along the Yellowstone River and its tributary, the Gardner River, were destroyed by recent historic flooding. New satellite images from Maxar Technologies show the extent of the damage the torrent of water wrought.

Many blessings on the many hearts and hands to those that know the meaning of karma yoga.

Here is the letter describing the need and decision to sell PCC:

Dear Friends,

After considerable soul searching, and with some sadness, the Hanuman Fellowship Board of Directors recently reached the decision to list Pacific Cultural Center (PCC) for sale. We know this project has a long history and warm memories for many in our community. It was purchased in 1989 when Babaji directed us to find a ‘town center,’ and it has served both the Satsang and the wider Santa Cruz area until the start of COVID when circumstances forced us to close.

From its inception, Pacific Cultural Center was managed with devotion by volunteers from both the town community and from Mount Madonna Center. It was a true home for us. Many of you will fondly remember Babaji’s presence in so many activities there such as work crews, Sunday Satsang, Gita class, Fun!, games, dog shows, group dinners, and so much more. Our deepest appreciation goes to all those who have helped sustain and given so much meaning to this project over the years. Unfortunately, it has become increasingly apparent that though we have dedicated volunteers, the requirements for effectively managing and sustaining PCC into the future are beyond our means.

Most significantly, the Hanuman Fellowship is facing an unprecedented financial challenge. Our costs have increased and our revenues have dropped due to extended COVID-related impacts. Despite these circumstances, we remain optimistic and resolute in our aim. As one part of our renewed efforts, we believe that funds from the sale of PCC would help provide an important “bridge to the future.”

By channeling the resources of PCC we can strengthen the long term sustainability of the Fellowship, primarily in areas of programming, outreach, facilities, and staff. The sale of PCC will allow us to continue to build on the strong foundation we have built over the past four decades. By so doing, the good energy and legacy of PCC will help us carry forward that which we hold most dear: the preservation, practice, and continuation of Babaji’s teachings. Mount Madonna Center will be our core focus and the home of our offerings for the satsang, broader community, and future generations.

In the coming months, we will come together in fellowship and will share both our plans for success and a call to action. We will ask for your hearts, hands, skills, and financial resources to safeguard Babaji’s legacy and our shared future. And, we will plan a special celebration at Pacific Cultural Center to gather, remember, and honor all that this spiritual home has meant and been over the years.

With gratitude for the gifts we have received,

Hanuman Fellowship Board of Directors:
Anusri Frost (Vice-President)
Ariana Brill
Avinash Walsh
Dayanand Diffenbaugh
Mohan Aguirre (Treasurer)
P.K. Hattis
Prabha Pacey (MMC Executive Director)
Ryan Asim Oliver
Stephanie Conway (Secretary)
Usha Kilpatrick (President)

Shake the shakti

This body is not me,
I am not limited by this body.
I am life without boundaries.

I have never been born,
and I have never died.

Look at the infinite oceans and skies filled with stars,
Manifestations from the basis of consciousness

Since beginningless time I have been free.
Birth and death are only doors through which we pass,
sacred thresholds on our journey.

Birth and death are a game of hide-and-seek.
So laugh with me,
hold my hand,
let us say good-bye,
say good-bye, to meet again soon.

We meet today,
We will meet again tomorrow.
We will meet at the source every moment.
We meet each other in all forms, on the myriad paths of life.

Very interesting - and deeply affected by wars

Slavic Esoterica explores all the areas where Slavic Native Faith, culture, spirituality and customs intersect with the Western and Eastern Esotericism. We will explore how Slavic Esoterica is creating it's own space and thus uniqueness between two worlds - never too west to be considered western but also never too east to be considered eastern either.
We will delve into olden and present-day Occultism, Astrology, Witchcraft, Alchemy, Spiritual Movements and Esoteric Doctrines within Slavic currents of both LHP & RHP. Areas touched by Slavic Esotericism and Spirituality like art, music, literature, psychology, philosophy will also be explored. Embark into a trans-personal journey within Slavic Esotericism.

They say before entering the sea,
a river trembles with fear.
She looks back at the way
that she has travelled, from the peaks,
the mountains, the long winding road
which crosses forests and villages,
and sees in front of her such a vast ocean
that entering it doesn't seem anything else
than having to disappear forever.
But there's no other way.
The river can't go back.
No one can go back.
Going back is impossible in existence.
The river needs to take the risk
and to enter the ocean.
It's only when entering the ocean
that fear will disappear,
because it's only then
that the river will know it's not about
to disappear into the ocean,
but to become ocean.
