Congratulations to our newest MS1s! Hawai‘i’s inspiring future physicians! 🌺🩺 It was truly an honor to spend time today discussing how to prioritize mental wellness from the very start of med school. Here are 5 authentic tips, shared from the heart of students who’ve walked this path before:

1️⃣ Imposter Syndrome is Real (and Normal!)
Talk about it openly. Trust that you belong here.

2️⃣ Find Your People Early
A healthy support system can be your greatest strength—build genuine connections to lean on through challenges. Introduce yourself!

3️⃣ Choose Kindness, Especially to Yourself
Treat yourself with compassion; you’re navigating something remarkable and challenging.

4️⃣ Redefine Success on Your Terms
Your value isn’t measured by rankings—focus instead on personal growth, purpose, and passion.

5️⃣ Practice Self-Awareness in Your Studies
Reflect often on how you learn best. Adjust when needed, and stay curious about yourself. If something is not working, figure out WHY!

You’re already amazing—your ambition, resilience, and authenticity will make you incredible physicians. So proud of you + cheering you on always! 💖✨

To climate change and the destruction of Indigenous sovereignty and land.

is more than a co-founder, she’s the soul of Spill The Tea Café. She said yes to this vision before there was a building, before there was a brand, before there was a plan. She said yes when it was just me, raw and scared, trying to help me accept my child and turning pain into power.

Kiks thanks for being my mirror. My anchor. My reminder that I’m never alone in this.

Kiki has grown so much in this journey—from friend to partner to leader. I’ve watched her rise into her power, and every step of the way, she’s had my back. She built STTC with me. She built me when I was falling apart.

To walk through fire with someone and come out stronger on the other side? That’s what we’ve done.

I love you, Kiki. Thank you for your loyalty, your vision, your laughter, and your fight. This work is bigger than us. But it wouldn’t exist without you.
