For patients facing serious or life-limiting illnesses, pain is often the most urgent and distressing symptom. At Bristol Hospice, we believe no one should have to face unnecessary suffering.

🌺 At Bristol Hospice Hawaii, we believe strong teams create the strongest care.
That’s why we prioritize time for team building—it’s not just about fun (though we had plenty of that 🎉), it’s about building trust, boosting communication, and strengthening the connections that help us care better for our patients and families every day.
During our recent Ohana Hour, we stepped away from busy schedules to share food, laughter, and creativity. Together, we brought our giant BRISTOL letters to life, filling them with images and words that inspire us.

Earlier this year, one of Joanne’s dear patients passed away. In the weeks that followed, Joanne held onto a tender memory of their time together—and put it into words to honor her.

Tucking in the Bunny
The Gentle Ritual of a Mind Forgetting

Yesterday,
she was especially tender—
my dear patient
with hands now slow,
yet so full of care.
I watchedas she gently tucked in her stuffed bunny,
nestled in a shoebox like a cradle,
then brushed its furwith the softest devotion.

Her heart—still brimming—
spoke in gestures
when words no longer could.
I paused,
letting the sweetness of her ritual
wash over the ache in my own chest.

Some days,
the weight of these visits
settles deep in my bones.
But moments like this—
brief as they are—
shine like lightthrough a curtain.

They steady me.
They stay.

🌺 Illuminating the Path for Our Littlest Lights – Hawaii Skills Lab Spotlight 🌺

At Bristol Hospice, we believe every child deserves comfort, dignity, and love—especially during life’s most tender moments. Last week, our dedicated Hawaii team came together for a powerful Skills Lab Training, preparing to launch our Little Lights Pediatric Hospice program with the highest level of care and compassion.
Little Lights is a specialized program that supports children with life-limiting conditions and surrounds their families with holistic, family-centered care. From lavender-scented warming therapy bears to customized care plans and 24/7 support, this program is built to guide each little light with grace and empathy.
