A win for reproductive rights! 🎉 Today, a federal district court in Hawai‘i issued a first-of-its-kind decision in Purcell v. Kennedy, declaring the restrictions on mifepristone to be unlawful, and ordering the U.S. FDA to do a full review to justify them.

Mifepristone is a medicine used for miscarriage treatment and medication abortion. Since it was FDA-approved 25 years ago, mifepristone has been used safely and effectively by more than 7.5 million people in the United States.

Health care policy should be based on science, not politics or ideology. We urge Secretary Kennedy and FDA Commissioner Makary to follow the court’s ruling and immediately remove these medically unnecessary and burdensome restrictions on mifepristone.
