This summer, we’ve enjoyed some time in the sun! Or more pleasantly in the shade during the hotter months. We’ve had picnics at Starvation Creek and the Bonneville fish hachery off I84, Toll Bridge Park near Parkdale, and most recently at Lost Lake Reservoir. There is always adventure to be had!

Recently, we had Hood River County Fire & EMS drop by to say hi to our residents and answer any questions we had about fire safety in and outside the building. We cannot express our gratitude enough for everything they do for us and the community. With the recent fires, their support has changed lives, and we know that having them makes us all feel more secure. Thank you for everything you do!

This past weekend was Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife free fishing weekend! Residents went to Rowena state park and resident Joe and cook Adam caught some smallmouth bass!

On a serious note, the area where we fished is very close to the starting point for the Rowena Fire on 6/11. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the fire. Thank you to all the firefighters and first responders who have risked their lives for the people they protect.

We had a fun picnic today at starvation creek state park! Named so due to a train being stuck in snow for three weeks, making the trapped passengers go hungry. Luckily, no one actually died, and we certainly enjoyed lunch there today!

Hood River Middle School paid a visit to Hawks Ridge. We held our first "Buggy Wash"! Students attending a leadership class volunteered their services to assist residents in some good clean fun by washing walkers and wheelchairs! A big shout out and thank you to the Hood River Middle school students for their heart of service 🥰💖
