While giving a foot massage to a regular facial client I saw a spot I hadn't noticed before. I took a picture, then another under my scope. I suggested she email the photos to her Dermatologist to see if an office visit deemed necessary. They called and wanted to see her right away and cut it out. The doctor said she was impressed with my photos and was glad my advice was taken. Her labs came back negative and all is well, no cancer.
This Irregularity caught concern right away:
1. It was on the side of the foot. We do not have hair follicles on our soles or palms, making it impossible to be a mole.
(Even if it were a mole, it was still suspicious for the following reasons)
2. The color changes. Sure fire warning sign. Browns, blacks, and reds.
3. It's shape. Very irregular, no borders, no margins. If it were a mole, you should be able to visually fold it in half, and it be identical.
I am not a doctor and cannot diagnose as it is out if my scope, but I am certified in seeing the signs of skin cancer and I have been right more times than I have been wrong. I have caught stage 2 & 3 cancer three times in my career. So listen to your esthetician when she says she doesn't like something she is seeing. She isn't saying to just sound smart, she is saying it to potentially save your life.
Ps. I know there are a few of you walking around in the world with suspicious things on your body. This is your sign.
