It is Hand Therapy Week!

Meet Sydney Thigpen, our Occupational Therapist. She’s from Trussville, AL and has been working at the Hoover TherapySouth clinic since August 2024. She graduated with her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2021 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has worked at TherapySouth for 3 years treating as a hand therapist focusing on treatment of the upper extremity. She works on upper extremity injuries conservatively and sees post-op patients from a variety of injuries including but not limited to: trigger finger, wrist fractures/sprains, finger fractures/sprains, tendon and ligament injuries, carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, hand pain/stiffness, and splint fabrications.

Sydney is a Certified Neuro Specialist and specializes in the treatment of patients who have acquired traumatic brain injuries and strokes.

Welcome our newest Physical Therapist, Riley Cockerill!
Riley attended PT school at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. He strives to provide quality hands on care and exercise prescription to help you reach your recovery goals. In his free time, Riley and his wife, Nicole, enjoy running, taking care of their 2 dogs, Sadie and Moose, and spending time with their nieces and nephews.

Meet our newest PTA, Delaney Wilson! She grew up in Birmingham, AL and received her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Sport Science from the University of Alabama and an Associate’s Degree in the Physical Therapist Assistant program from Wallace State.
She has also been a competitive gymnastics coach for the past 4 years at the same gym she grew up doing gymnastics in.
Outside of PTA, she enjoys weight lifting, spending time with her family, and hanging out with friends.

Meet Jessica Adkins!

Jessica graduated from Samford’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in April of this year and started with TherapySouth as a Staff Physical Therapist at our Hoover Hwy 31/I-65 location in May. She enjoys treating the older adult population and has a passion for helping them maintain their independence and improve their overall quality of life through health and wellness.

Jessica lives in McCalla, AL with her husband, John, and their two dogs, Dansby and Paisley. Jessica enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and walking her two dogs. She also loves to read and go to concerts with her husband.

We are excited to welcome our new clinic director - Ryan Kailey, PT, DPT! 👋

Ryan graduated from UAB’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program in 2020 and worked as a staff physical therapist at TherapySouth’s Vestavia location before becoming Clinic Director at the
Hoover - Hwy 31/I-65 clinic. He’s very excited about being able to serve this community and build lasting relationships with his patients.

He enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions including knee, shoulder, and low back pain, vertigo, vestibular dysfunction, and Parkinson’s Disease. He has been certified in LSVT BIG since 2020.

Ryan lives in Pelham with his wife, Kayla, and their dog, Rosie. He’s an active member of Valleydale Church. Ryan loves going to the movies and traveling with his family.
