Twerk N Tea was a huge success!

Saturday night was pure magic. We gathered for our very first Twerk N Tea — a space where movement, culture, and community came together in the most beautiful way. Thank you to everyone who showed up with open hearts and full energy.

We laughed, we moved, we released, and we reconnected. Together we explored what it means to let go of shame, the kind that’s been passed down, the kind that shows up in our bodies, and the kind we no longer have to carry. Our tea meditation centered on “Red” a color and flavor that holds deep roots across the African diaspora.

From hibiscus to bissap to red drinks, this reminds us of resilience, vitality, and the ways our ancestors found joy and healing even through hardship. Reclaiming that connection was powerful a reminder that healing can be cultural, communal, and delicious.

Huge gratitude to for sharing their beautiful space with us and to our amazing instructor Ashley .c.hawkins for guiding us through movement!

This was only the beginning. The energy in the room confirmed what I already knew, that Twerk N Tea is an annual event centered on cultural movement, joy, and reconnection.

Guess who accidentally bought Sapporo Giant Cabbage seeds 🙋🏽‍♀️😂

I planted them today and I’m both excited and scared 😳 These cabbages can grow on average 17-37 lbs and in perfect conditions up to 44lbs has been recorded. To put this perspective most cabbage varieties are between 1-7 lbs 😂😂
