"The fields are bare at Lovewell Farms in Hopkinton after this year’s harvest. But Mike Simpson, one of the farm’s owners, worries they might stay that way.

'It would be really silly for us to put plants in the ground that, by the end of the growing season, are no longer legal,' he said.

That’s because of new regulations approved by federal lawmakers in a bill to end the government shutdown this week. The legislation bans h**p products that contain 0.4 milligrams or more of THC per container, which experts say encompasses most h**p products. The ban takes effect next year.

THC is the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis plants.

Simpson said he’s confused about what this will mean for his business, especially since Rhode Island’s regulations legalizing his product took effect last year."

According to Reuters, the U.S. was already losing over 11,000 jobs per week as of October. Now, an additional 300,000 h**p industry jobs, from farmers to retailers to manufacturers, could disappear by 2027, threatening a $28 billion market."

When Congress moved to reopen the federal government, it slipped a h**p ban into the bill that redefines h**p so narrowly it could end up shutting down tens of thousands of compliant h**p businesses, including Lovewell Farms in Hopkinton, Rhode Island.

It’s that very reason Simpson helped co-found Rhode Island’s only outdoor h**p farm, where he says many of the business’ products ship all across the country.

🚨 URGENT: H**p Ban Threatens Small Farms 🚨

Last week, Congress quietly passed language that could make most full-spectrum CBD products illegal — including ours.

Even though our h**p products are non-intoxicating, tested, labeled, and only sold to adults, the new bill (H.R. 5371) rewrites the definition of h**p to ban anything with even a trace of THC — no matter how natural, safe, or compliant it is.

As Rhode Island’s only USDA-certified organic h**p farm, we’ve followed the rules from day one. Now we’re being punished for it.

This bill could shut down 300,000 jobs nationwide by 2027 — including ours, threatening a $28 billion industry nationwide.

🚨 Congress just voted to ban my h**p products — and possibly our farm.

This week, lawmakers passed a bill that changes the definition of h**p in a way that could make natural, non-intoxicating CBD products like ours federally illegal — even though they’re legal and safe in Rhode Island.

We’re talking about:
