💙🐾 Our Deepest Condolences 🐾💙

The Verrier family and everyone at New England Carriage Company would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the men and women of the Rhode Island State Police on the loss of K9 Rigs.

As a small family farm, animals are part of our daily lives and part of our family. With a German Shepherd here on our property, we know the loyalty, dedication, and bond these incredible dogs share with their handlers and the communities they protect.

K9 Rigs served with honor and helped keep countless people safe. His service, bravery, and partnership will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his handler, the State Police family, and everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Rest easy, K9 Rigs. Thank you for your service. 🐾💙

The Rhode Island State Police & Troopers Association mourn the loss of K9 Riggs, who passed away on March 10 following a recent diagnosis of hemangiosarcoma.

K9 Riggs served alongside Detective Trooper Justin Andreozzi from June 2014 to July 2025 as a dual-purpose patrol and narcotics detection canine. Throughout his career, he was responsible for major narcotics seizures, the recovery of over $1 million in U.S. currency, and multiple criminal apprehensions.

K9 Riggs will be deeply missed by the Andreozzi family and the Rhode Island State Police.

🐴💙 Our Thoughts Are with the Mounted Unit Family 💙🐴

All of us at New England Carriage Company and Just a Drafty Farm would like to share our deepest condolences to the men and women of the Providence Police Department Mounted Command on the loss of one of their horses.

Anyone who works with horses knows they are far more than partners in the field — they become family. These incredible animals serve with strength, patience, and loyalty, standing beside their riders through long hours of service to the community.

Our hearts go out to the officers, caretakers, and everyone connected to the mounted unit during this difficult time. The bond between horse and rider is something truly special, and the loss of a horse leaves a deep mark on all who knew and cared for them.

Please know the equine community is thinking of you.

🐴🚨 HELP WANTED – EXPERIENCED HORSE PERSON 🚨🐴

New England Carriage Company is looking for a part-time, as-needed experienced horse person to help with our horse-drawn services, primarily funerals and special events during weekdays.

🌿 What We’re Looking For:
• Experience handling and working around horses
• Comfortable working at funeral services and public events
• Able to assist with hitching, preparing horses, and general event help
• Reliable, professional, and respectful

📍 Barn Location:
Our barns are located in the Hope / Scituate, Rhode Island area.
Transportation is only needed to the barns, as you would travel to events with us from there.

⏰ Immediate Need:
We have an immediate need for help Wednesday morning (early), so if you are available and experienced, please reach out right away.
