The idea of doing this came to me right away once I saw the wooden window go up in place of our glass window that unfortunately got broken.
This flag means the absolute world to me ever since I was a kid because every time I see it, it always reminds me of my great grandfather who served as a police officer down in mount Vernon for many years, as well as a navy officer in the Korean War. So seeing that flag flying in front of our store makes me more then happy and helps remind me of my grandfather and every police officer who keeps us protected and safe every day , as well as keeps our businesses safe and running. So It was only right that we did this to honor the police those still serving, those who are retired, those who were lost in the line of duty, and the ones who have fallen due to illness or old age. And especially to honor the EFPD who responded within a minute of the call of the break in from Steve when he got the alert to prevent any further damage and any further stolen property. If it weren’t for them responding so quick who knows how much could have been taken or how much damage could have been done to our small town mom and pop drugstore. As many know we had the words Hopewell strong etched in our glass window for years, that was to show how much a town can come together in times like these. Once again you all have come together as a town and put your differences aside to help us, and well as each other when needed most. We all just want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making sure we are okay and offering your help to us. That is what Hopewell strong is all about, coming together as one, stronger together. Thank you all once again as we all continue to grow from this and let’s continue to be Hopewell strong!
Sincerely,
Brandon J Coryea
