Not sure when to expect your child’s baby teeth to grow in or wiggle out? 👶🏻 We’re here to help you!

It’s important to remember that every child’s smile grows at its own pace, but there IS a general timeline for when those primary teeth start to grow in and start to shed. Typically, a child will experience their first tooth eruption anywhere from 6-10 months old and their first tooth exfoliation around 6-7 years old. To help take the guesswork out of the process, we’re providing you with this handy chart you can save and refer back to later 🦷

Something to keep in mind: the first tooth to erupt is usually the first tooth to fall out!

Today is Root Canal Appreciation Day! 🦷 While our pediatric dentists don’t perform root canals on adult teeth, baby root canals are actually more common than many parents realize.

So, when might a child need a baby root canal?
1️⃣ A cavity is too close to the nerve and a filling alone won’t be enough
2️⃣ A dental infection or abscess is present
3️⃣ The nerve has been damaged or exposed

Baby root canals help preserve primary teeth that may need to stay in place for several more years. Extracting a baby tooth too early can lead to speech concerns and orthodontic issues as surrounding teeth begin to shift.

Protecting little smiles today helps support healthy development for the future!
