Jaw pain? Ear pain? Headaches? Clicking or popping with chewing or opening your mouth? TMJD is a common source of these symptoms. Great news! Dry needling can be a very effective treatment for TMJD, which we offer at our DMR clinics.

A recent review of treatments for TMD showed that dry needling improved pain and reduced sensitivity to touch (pain pressure threshold) better than alternative treatments. A review of multiple studies regarding dry needling for TMD found that dry needling demonstrated significant improvement in pain and function. Dry needling as part of a comprehensive physical therapy treatment plan has been proven to improve pain, function, and increase maximal mouth opening.
