Join Leanne for a 90-minute flow incorporating building sequences, dynamic transitions, and breath-based movement. Opportunities to work into advanced variations will be offered, but of course, never required. Weekend Warrior is suitable for yogis with an existing flow practice and solid understanding of frequently taught yoga postures.
Pre-requisites: While class will be appropriately paced to the breath, it is faster paced than all-levels flow. Participants should know and feel comfortable moving into traditional vinyasa postures by name. For example: chaturanga, chair, side angle, humble warrior, etc.

Investment~$45

In the last few weeks, I’ve had some students delight in reporting they have reached some personal milestones for their practice. Whether it was participating in the January challenge, nailing an arm balance they’d been working towards or recognizing they had completed a significant number of classes since starting their practice with us at Shanti.

In contrast, I have had many students reach out to me recently and share that they are going through something challenging that is keeping them from their practice. The list is long and varied—injury, illness, giving birth, losing a job, lack of motivation, divorce, depression, getting a new job, etc.

I want my students to know that whether they fall into the first example or the second, they are seen, received, appreciated, supported and celebrated at Shanti. There are certain studios that do special social media posts or prizes for students who complete a certain number of classes—100, 500, 1000 etc. We don’t do this at Shanti and that is a very conscious choice. It’s not because we don’t want to celebrate a student who has attended 1000 classes. Of course, a milestone like that is an accomplishment. But what message does celebrating someone who has, for whatever combination of dedication and circumstance, completed a certain amount of classes send to someone who struggles to get to their mat? Take a moment to think about that.

As an example, I don’t want the new mom who is perhaps wrangling with overwhelm to think that the single class they can make in a month is any less of a thing to be proud of or celebrated. Ever.

More isn’t always better. And in a society where we are often sent the message that our self worth is attached to accumulation of all kinds, we at Shanti want to offer something else. You’re always going to be celebrated in this space. No matter if you come to class daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Do your best and let that be enough because YOU are enough.
