I advocate whole heartedly for open communication so I am going to openly communicate a little about being a business owner. When I opened Life Solutions one of the things that I admittedly did not want to do was turn people down who needed help. I felt that it was super important to people and society to help in any way I could. As my schedule got full, I hired more counselors. I found that this goal wasn’t possible. I found that counselors with the necessary and required credentials to do outpatient therapy are very difficult to find, keep, and/or bring on full time due to other obligations. Counselors are very transient for multiple reasons. So, I do my best have a few part time people, I myself have a very full time schedule and we do everything that we can for our clients. We accept phone calls throughout the night and on vacation, come to work not feeling well, come to work while our own families are not well, come to work after our own surgeries before we are supposed too, reschedule after missed appointments without cancellations that we don’t get paid for, go in early, stay late, and the list goes on. We try hard to put our clients first because that’s what we do. We love what we do so we are dedicated. However, there are times when we do get sick and have to miss, or we have an emergency, or are not able to answer the phone. Sometimes, not often, we forget things too or mess something up. We try our best. Please be patient. We are human too. Think twice before having a negative reaction, no one is perfect and I’m sure you have gotten things wrong in your life too. Your reaction could have detrimental results for people who are being seen and helped. Please be kind. The issues that we are seeing in our business are across the field of counseling and others as well. We are hoping something changes with the requirements so that we can bring more counselors in to address those who need but until then we are all feeling the frustration of wanting to help and needing help and it not being available. We apologize but it is our frustration too.
We know that we are not going to please everyone 100% of the time but all we can do is try.
