Did you know Medicare does not cover certain prescription drugs? 💊

Medicare does not pay for medications like Vi**ra, Propecia, Va**um, or Xanax. Some Medicare plans may add these as optional conveniences, but coverage can change from year to year.

Experimental treatments and weight loss drugs are also not covered. Some plans may include medications like Ozempic or Mounjaro, but only when prescribed for diabetes, not weight loss.
New drugs often take time before being added to Medicare coverage lists, even if they are FDA-approved.

Long-term care goes beyond what Medicare covers. 🏡
It includes help with daily activities like bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting. These are considered custodial care needs, not skilled nursing.

Long-term care insurance plans usually have an elimination period, which is a short waiting time before coverage begins, typically 60 to 90 days. You can choose how much coverage you want, such as $200 per day or $6,000 per month, and how long you want it to last — one year, five years, or for life. Each choice affects your monthly premium.
