Helen, is a mother of two amazing kids. She has not only supported her children, she also put herself through college and worked all while being sick. She's a VERY strong lady!

Helen was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 13yrs of age. The diagnoses was traumatic leaving her in a comatose state; doctors did not think she had long to live.
She started showing signs of kidney failure at 18, which doctors felt she was to young to show signs.
By November of 2018, her kidneys were spent. They went from stage 3 in 2014 to End stage (5) in 2018.
So 4 years is how long she held out with just 40% kidney function. She started dialysis the day after Christmas in 2018 and has remained on dialysis since then.
She has finally been placed on the transplant list, however it is a drop and run situation. It's out of state (Texas) and the actual transplant and meds is the only thing covered.
Helen will have to stay 6 weeks at the facility with round the clock care.

Helen never asks for help so we're here to give her the help and support she needs!
