For many years, people with weakened immune systems—especially cancer patients who develop neutropenia during treatment—were told to follow a strict “neutropenic diet.” This eating plan was meant to reduce exposure to bacteria in food. But new research shows that this highly restrictive diet doesn't actually lower the risk of infection.

Family Caregivers Month is celebrated every November to recognize and honor the millions of unpaid family caregivers in the United States who support loved ones with illness, disability, or other needs. Over 53 million Americans provide unpaid care to family members, friends, and neighbors, often while balancing other responsibilities.
