While we wrap up Lab Week 2025, this letter is a mere glimpse into the life of a Laboratory Professional. 🧪🧬

Dear Younger Me,

You don’t know it yet, but you’re about to enter a world that few understand — a world behind the scenes, beneath the surface, and beyond the spotlight. You're going to wear that white coat with pride, but there will be days it feels heavy. There will be moments when exhaustion will sit quietly beside you, when machines break down mid-shift, and when you're the last one in the lab while the rest of the hospital sleeps.

You’ll cry silently over samples that belong to patients you never meet… and you’ll celebrate quietly when numbers normalize — even though no one sees the battle you fought behind that analyzer.

There will be times you’ll ask, “Am I seen? Am I valued?” And the truth is, sometimes you won’t be. But you’ll keep showing up. Because science runs in your blood, and integrity is stitched into your soul.

You’ll learn to trust your instincts. You’ll discover the beauty in accuracy, the poetry in precision, and the silent heroism of getting results out on time. You’ll realize that “just a MedTech” is a title that underestimates your worth — because without you, diagnoses stall, treatments delay, and lives hang in the balance.
