New Guidelines recommend early elimination of atrial fibrillation rather than waiting until the disease process is advanced. Also, catheter ablation is regarded as 1st line treatment rather than waiting for drugs to fail. Lastly, patients with afib and reduced heart function are now regarded to be candidates for afib ablation rather than drugs.

Aim The “2023 ACC/AHA/ACCP/HRS Guideline for the Diagnosis and Management of Atrial Fibrillation” provides recommendations to guide clinicians in the treatment of patients with atrial fibrillation. M

Cardiac Electrophysiology

Many serious health concerns can stem from irregular heart rhythms such as stroke, heart failure, fatigue, syncope (passing out), sudden death, etc. Therefore, it is important to have these irregular rhythms evaluated and treated.

Cardiac Electrophysiology treatment may involve the use of medications, pace-makers, defibrillators, and/or cardiac ablations after specialized evaluations are completed to determine the specific challenge that each patient may have. Each patient is unique with their own additional health challenges that make this process specific to those qualified and experienced in providing the best outcomes.

With over 25 years of experience treating thousands of patients and performing thousands of procedures, Dr. Talbert is honored by and committed to providing the highest level of care possible for his patients.
