Autism Awareness Month is ending, but for some families, the awareness is 24/7.
At New Hope Therapy, we want to be a place where those families feel supported, not just during one month, but all year long. A place where questions are welcomed. Where challenges are met with understanding. And where progress, big or small, is noticed and celebrated. 🧩💙

✨ It’s the end of Occupational Therapy Month… and we’ve got to say it one more time ....our OTs are kind of amazing. 🙌

But we get this question all the time:
“What exactly do people go to OT for?” 🤔
Short answer? A LOT more than you might think.
At New Hope Therapy, our Occupational Therapists help people of all ages with things like:
💛 Fine motor skills (holding a pencil, buttoning clothes, using utensils)
💛 Sensory processing (helping kids who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or overstimulated)
💛 Daily life skills (getting dressed, brushing teeth, independence at home)
💛 Feeding challenges and picky eating
💛 Handwriting and school readiness
💛 Strength, coordination, and motor planning
💛 Support for diagnoses like autism, ADHD, and developmental delays

Basically… if it affects your ability to live life well, OT is there. 👏
And we’re so thankful for our incredible OT team who show up every day with patience, creativity, and a whole lot of heart.

If you’ve ever wondered if OT could help your child (or even yourself), this is your sign to reach out. We’d love to walk alongside you. 🤝

✨ Therapy Tip Tuesday ✨
Since it’s OT Month, we thought we’d let you in on a little secret… a lot of what happens in occupational therapy looks like PLAY. 🎲😊

One thing OTs work on that might surprise you is executive function...basically the brain skills that help kids stay on track, like focusing, remembering what to do next, and thinking before they act.
An easy way to work on this at home? Pull out a board game! 🙌
Taking turns, following the rules, and planning their next move are all helping build those skills (even if it just looks like family game night 😉).

Today, we have a special edition of "What's THAT Wednesday" 🤓
Today is National Assistive Technology Day 💙

Did you know assistive technology helps people of all ages live more independently and confidently?
Assistive tech isn’t just high-tech devices with screens, t’s anything that helps someone do life a little easier...Think communication devices, walkers or wheelchairs, headphones for sensory support, or tools that help with reading and learning.
Bottom line: it helps people stay independent, participate more, and feel confident in everyday life.
