My passion is working with people to alleviate their emotional struggles, whatever the sources of those struggles are. ‘People need people’ and sometimes they need a professional to walk alongside them to support their journey back to emotional health and strength. I will truly seek to understand you, your background, and your strengths/weaknesses as I counsel, focusing on the nurturing of hope. My goal is to be warm and caring, as well as knowledgeable, as I walk with you to work through life’s challenges. Our thoughts affect our emotions, actions, and relationships, therefore, working through thought patterns and emotional responses are central in my work. Personal growth can result when you are able to work through challenges in a healthy way. Starting in the first session I will do my best to provide practical ways for you to begin helping yourself. The treatment approaches that I draw the most from are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I am also a Board Certified Professional Christian Counselor and can integrate Christian principles into the counseling process if you desire. My experience includes working with all ages except for pre-school age children, and I have worked in outpatient and inpatient settings, treating issues such as depression, anxiety/panic attacks, career challenges, family conflicts, grieving, self-esteem, and mood disorders. I do not bill insurance but can help you file for reimbursement. I look forward to working with you!
