South Dakota Ghosts Paranormal Team (S.D. Ghosts) was founded on May 23rd, 2004 by Shawna Nelson (Founder) and James Webb (Co-Founder) in Hot Springs, South Dakota (Fall River County.) On September 19th, 2017 we opened up our family operation to the community of Hot Springs.

Since Shawna and James’s first private investigation back in 2004, and the formed teams one in June 21st, 2018, they have become a group of professional paranormal researchers and wish to be taken as a such.
“It's important to us that we set standards for our name, our group as well as our reputation. We have set these standards as a reminder to ourselves and our clients that we use this for only ourselves and our team, but also educating our clients. With practice, it shows that they are reflected in our research and findings.”
Anyone who is interested in becoming a member of South Dakota Ghosts is put on a probationary period (1-2 weeks and is paired with a veteran member for that duration.) An investigator must not only have some knowledge of the field but can demonstrate their dedication to the field. We ask that you have some background in proper investigatory procedures. Training is available, however, our weekly training sessions are mandatory. It is because of this that clients have trusted us (40 cases total) and our team has become well respected.

South Dakota Ghosts does not enter into any investigation trying to prove the existence of disembodied sounds or paranormal activity. We look for reasonable explanations first; environmental, mental health, medications, etc. We will never use equipment that is not meant for us to investigate the paranormal. South Dakota Ghosts never will we try to exercise an entity from a client home, if it is needed, our evidence will be handed over to a church that we work with and be with you during the entire process. Even after it is all said and done, we will always check back up on you. We are here for you!
