Just to clarify Fridays.... I am here on Friday mornings. Somehow people think that I started taking Friday's off. I'm here every day Monday-Friday.

It looks like we may have some freezing temps next week.
Take time to cover your plants, prepare for your pets/animals and check on your neighbor. Oh, and the faucet covers should be put on.

If there is moisture on your deck or porch, then there may be "black ice" so try not to fall.

Next Friday and Saturday, the 14,15 there is a second annual Holiday Bazaar to raise funds for Nursing Scholarships at NPC and Veteran Projects for local vets. It will be at the Oaklawn United Methodist Church at 216 Higdon Ferry Road.

Looks like they have some pretty cool items for sale.

Next Monday, Oct.13 is a Federal holiday and the banks will be closed and the city also. Federal employees are already off, without their consent.

However, we will be OPEN! This is your opportunity to get some relief from yard work, work work, stress and anxiety.

The goldenrod is beginning to bloom and the ragweed runs with it. Look in the ditches along the road and in vacant lots, you'll see it there.
With that said, it will be cooler weather next week and you will want to roll your car windows down. Think about it first, do you have allergic reactions to ragweed and goldenrod?

If you get all stopped up, come by. I can help you with that and show you things to do to help yourself.

I think Hades froze over yesterday. 63 degrees on an August 26th morning and 70* on the drive home. Don't trust it.

Otherwise, we will be closed on Labor Day. That is this coming Monday, Sept 1st.

Friday hours changed this year to 9-12.

It is hot. It is not as hot as the last few weeks though. Watch your outdoor activities and pay attention to how you feel. Last week my brother was supposed to have a big procedure done but it was postponed to this Friday because people were having too many heart events from the heat. Mowing dead grass, whatever.

Please, just keep an eye on yourself and your fellow humans. Leave some water out for the animals if you can.
