Michigan Technological University Emergency Medical Services (MTU EMS), as part of the Department of Public Safety and Police Services, provides free, reliable, and high-quality 24/7 emergency medical care to the Michigan Tech community and its visitors.

Even with the semester wrapped up, we’re still recognizing some of the work our team put in this year!🌟

At the 32nd Annual Student Leadership Awards in April, Amber Howard received the Dean of Students Award for Service, recognizing her impact and dedication to the campus community.

Several of our EMTs were also recognized with Michigan Tech Service Awards, which honor students who have completed a significant amount of service hours over the past year:

🥇Gold (250+ hours) recipients include Ashley Delie, Kaci Clark, Kaitlyn McDermott, and Kyle Siefert.
🥈Silver (175–249 hours) recipients include Allie Browne, Isaac Dressel, Jackson Levijoki, Kylin Campbell, Marissa Ritter, and Mitchell Kelly.
🥉Bronze (100–174 hours) recipients include Jaden Schneider, Lauren Ossenheimer, and Maggie Norberg.

Together, these awards represent hundreds of hours spent serving our campus and community. We’re proud of our team and everything they do for our community!

Dominic is our EMT of the Month for March! He played a key role in supporting the psychomotor exam, stepping up to help ensure everything ran smoothly, and he consistently shows up ready to help wherever he’s needed.

With graduation officially coming up this month, we’re excited to start highlighting our seniors, starting with Melia, Jaden, Jayden, and Marissa!

As they prepare to close out their time with MTU EMS, we want to take a moment to recognize their contributions and the impact they’ve made on the agency. Each of them has played an important role in EMS, and we’re grateful for the time, effort, and leadership they’ve given throughout their years here.

Good luck to our MTU EMS candidate class as they take their psychomotor exam today!

The psychomotor is the hands-on portion of EMS certification, where candidates demonstrate critical skills like patient assessment, airway management, trauma care, and more in real-life scenarios.

We’re proud of the work this group has put in to get here and wish them the best today. 👏
