A True inspiration. Rest peacefully, Donald.

REST IN PEACE, DONALD TRIPLETT
Donald Triplett died this morning. We wanted to share this news with those of you who have heard and been touched by his story. Autism's "first child" would have been 90 in September, which makes for a good long life. His ending was peaceful. He died at home in Forest, Mississippi, surrounded by love and family, which of course was the story his whole life. We were able to visit him several days ago. Though weak, he was happy to chat with us, in Donald's unique way of chatting. Believe it or not, he shot a rubber band at Caren (this is true!). We told him directly how much he had impacted the world by allowing his life to be brought to the screen and our book. We told him how much hope he inspired. We told him how much he was loved. Donald, as was his way, nodded, and just said, "Oh yes, thank you very much." No Donald, thank you very much.
