Forensic Therapy Wellness is looking to hire a Licensed or Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Professional to take on clients at our growing business. Services would be rendered in an individual and/or group setting. Applicants must possess a valid license or provisional license in the state of Louisiana and be in good standing with the board. Applicants must also be willing to work a flexible schedule.

When you are gardening and you notice that there is a problematic w**d, you don't just try to pull at the part you see right? Because if you only address that part, you know it will keep growing back.

Instead, you want to look for the roots. Getting to the origin of the w**d is the key to preventing it's spread right?

Same with our littles. The behavior is only the visible part of the problem. And if we aim our w**d killer at only the top of the w**d, we may see "results" but that w**d will grow back somewhere else.

Not to mention the fact that a behavioral approach can create disconnection in our relationship to our children (if my parents punish me when I mess up, then why would I go to them when am in a pickle of any kind? I'll get in trouble).

And can lead to low-self esteem, or conditional self-esteem (aka I am only worthy when I am being "good" and being rewarded).

If your child is struggling with a behavior, be curious about what is driving it. Study them. Ask yourself what are the underlying needs and how can you partner with child to solve it?
