If you have diabetes, your eyes need special attention — even if your vision feels perfectly fine right now. 🩺
Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that damages the tiny blood vessels in your retina. It's the leading cause of vision loss among working-age adults, and yet it often has NO symptoms in its early stages.
🔴 As it progresses, you may notice:
• Spots or floaters in your vision
• Blurred or fluctuating vision
• Dark or empty areas in your visual field
• Difficulty seeing colors
The American Diabetes Association recommends a dilated eye exam at least once a year for anyone living with diabetes. With early detection and proper treatment, vision loss can often be prevented.
Managing your diabetes is step one — and regular eye exams at Southern Eye Institute are step two. Let's protect your vision together.
