Start Corporation Start Corporation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1984. We are proud to serve communities throughout Louisiana.

Our Mission is to promote opportunities, which enhance the self-sufficiency of people to empower them to live and function independently. We offer Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Community Based Services, Veterans Services, Crisis Care and Homeless Outreach/Coordinated Entry throughout the state of Louisiana. Currently, we operate five Federally Qualified Health Centers and are excited to add two more this year. Start Corporation received 3 Year CARF Accreditation for Case Management/Services Coordination, Community Housing, and Community Integration. As the new year approaches, now is a great time to make sure your child has the health coverage they need. 💙

Start Corp’s Connecting Kids to Coverage (CKC) program helps Louisiana families understand and enroll in the coverage their children qualify for, including Medicaid and CHIP.

Our team can help families:
✨ Explore free or low-cost coverage options
✨ Identify children who may be eligible but not enrolled
✨ Get support with applications, renewals, and keeping coverage active

This month, the SSG-Fox team hosted a holiday-themed peer support group, inviting Veterans in our programs to join staff in connecting and celebrating the Christmas season together. The group enjoyed a festive hot chocolate bar and participated in a meaningful holiday activity designed to encourage gratitude and mindfulness.

The SSG-Fox team would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Rivero’s 6th-grade class at Thibodaux Middle School for creating heartfelt Christmas cards for our Veteran clients. Their kindness brought smiles to both our staff and the Veterans we serve, and their thoughtfulness was truly appreciated.

Our Veterans Department would also like to express sincere gratitude to all of our clients who have participated in Veteran Peer Support Groups throughout the year. Your engagement and openness make these groups meaningful, and we are honored to continue working alongside you. We look forward to continuing peer support groups in the New Year and value the connection and conversations each group brings.

Start Corporation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 1984. Start Corporation strongly believes in recovery, quality of life, respect, and personal choice for our clients and for everyone.

Start Corporation has successfully established numerous programs to provide supportive housing, case management, social skills training, residential services, a clubhouse, and a Peer to Peer program for persons with low incomes and/or behavioral, physical, or developmental challenges and disabilities.

Start Corporation received 3 Year CARF Accreditation for Case Management/Services Coordination, Community Housing, and Community Integration. Start Community Health Center received level 3 accreditation for Patient Centered Medical Home in September of 2017.
