Terrebonne General takes pride in being the largest community-based hospital in the tri-parish area of Terrebonne, Lafourche and St. Terrebonne General serves as a major economic force for the community with a staff of over 1500 employees. In addition, the hospital currently has a medical staff of over 150 physicians offering a variety of specialties ranging from family practice to cardiovascular surgery. Terrebonne General is accredited by Joint Commission, the national body that ensures that member hospitals meet established standards for quality of patient care. Terrebonne General is also a member of the Louisiana Hospital Association.
