IN THE NEWS: Cooper University Health Care has been named to Forbes’ America’s Best Large Employers 2026 list, ranking among the top large employers in the nation. Cooper is the only health system in New Jersey included on this year’s list, earning national recognition for its strong workplace culture, employee engagement, and commitment to professional growth.

Cooper ranked #114 among the nation’s large employers and is one of just 56 hospitals and health systems nationwide recognized on this year’s list.

“Being named to Forbes’ America’s Best Large Employers list is an extraordinary honor and a powerful reflection of the dedication and excellence of our Cooper team members,” said George E. Norcross, III, chairman of the Board of Trustees of Cooper University Health Care. “Their commitment to delivering compassionate care and advancing health care innovation drives our success. We remain focused on investing in our people, expanding access to high-quality care, and continuing to grow to meet the needs of the communities we serve.”

Presented in partnership with market research firm Statista, Forbes’ America’s Best Large Employers list is based on surveys from more than 217,000 U.S. employees working at organizations with at least 1,000 employees. Participants evaluated employers on criteria including salary, work environment, benefits, advancement opportunities, and whether they would recommend their employer to others. The final rankings reflect multi-year survey data, with greater weight given to recent responses and feedback from current employees.

“Being selected as one of the best places to work in the United States affirms the strong culture the Cooper team has built and sustained,” said Kevin O’Dowd, JD, co-CEO of Cooper University Health Care. “We are committed to investing in and supporting our team members through competitive wages and benefits, professional development opportunities, and a workplace where people can thrive as we continue transforming health care in our region.”

“Our inclusion on this list speaks directly to the experience and engagement of our workforce,” said Anthony J. Mazzarelli, MD, JD, MBE, co-CEO of Cooper University Health Care. “In a time of rapid change and increasing demands across health care, we are proud to be recognized as an employer of choice and grateful to our team members whose passion and purpose make Cooper exceptional.”

This latest honor continues a strong track record of national workplace recognition for Cooper. Forbes has recognized Cooper for multiple consecutive years through its employer rankings, including repeated placement on its Best Employers by State lists and last year’s inclusion among the nation’s top 200 employers. The continued recognition reflects sustained employee engagement and long-term investment in workforce development, benefits, and workplace culture.

Forbes noted that this year’s rankings come at a time of continued workplace transformation across industries, with organizations being evaluated not only on compensation and benefits, but also on leadership, flexibility, and opportunities for growth and advancement. Survey responses were combined with three years of rolling data to identify organizations that demonstrate sustained employee satisfaction and loyalty.
