We have been keeping a little secret 🙊

Memorial Speech Therapy is THRILLED to announce the new addition of ! We’ve been waiting to find the perfect addition… and Ms.Molly no doubt is it!

A recent graduate of OSU’s Master’s of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Molly brings an extensive background treating children in both schools and clinic settings. Molly’s true love for being a SLP and working with children shines through in every interaction. She is bubbly, kind, warm, and intelligent. Above all else, she makes speech therapy FUN and engaging, echoing the values and mission of Memorial Speech Therapy.

With the addition of Molly, we are now able to provide speech therapy to children in both the 📍Heights & 📍Memorial neighborhoods of Houston.

Welcome to the “team”, Ms.Molly!!! We can’t wait to see how many lives you will change. 🗣️

We can’t keep up with all these speech graduations! Congratulations to Holden- a little one who started with few words and ended with 5+ word phrases and sentences. Early intervention is crucial for speech and language development. This (hilarious) 2 year old exceeded all expectations in one summer!

Reading comes alive when kids learn to paint pictures in their minds. 🎨📚 Very impressed by the approach to building reading comprehension through imagery.

Collaboration between specialists is key when at least 25% of children with speech disorders also present with reading defects (Tambyraja et al., 2020).

Thank you to the clinic director, Andrew, and Lindamood-Bell for your time and knowledge. Looking forward to continued collaboration and progress in our little ones!

The most bittersweet part of being a speech therapist is when the time comes to say goodbye 🥹 Parker was my official first client who sparked my interest in private practice years ago.

This little man is bright, funny, kind, and the most caring big brother the world has seen. We are so proud of who he is and all the love he brings to this world.

Implementing the evidence based CARE model taught to us by for our children who stutter. A paradigm shift from historical approaches to “fix” the stutter (see the King’s Speech) to self acceptance and empowerment.

These voices may be tiny but they are full of self advocacy and bravery ❤️

Seven. My favorite age. The peak of childhood- the excitement of a loose tooth, the magic of Santa’s letters, and the joy found within fidget spinners and stuffiez. The age where forgiveness comes almost as easy as making new friends. We are eager to learn, are trusting of all, and full of love.

One of ours (8 YO) lost his classmate.

One of ours (8 YO) lost two of her best friends.

One of ours (6 YO) tapped me on the shoulder mid session and said “Mrs.Kathryn, did you know a MDE girl died?”

When labeling Inside Out emotions, one little one (7 YO) said “I feel angry at the sky. I also feel joy. Mommy said that in heaven you get to see everyone. So my friends are able to see their family that they never met on earth”

To these children, the Camp Mystic angels, and all parents- we are with you and share in the heart break that you and your children are feeling.

All of ours are getting loved on extra this week.💚🤍💚

Summer is in full swing at Memorial Speech Therapy and the language explosions are happening! 🗣️

We love Mr.Potato Head for many reasons:

1. Identifying body parts 🦻👁️
2. Labeling adjectives & nouns (e.g. “red nose”) 🔴
3. Prepositions (e.g “in” “on” “out” & “off”)

Working with little ones like Kate and her family continue to bring the most rewarding experiences. Thank you 💓

We love celebrating some BIG milestones for little ones.

👏🏻 Parker: pre-k graduate & headed to Bunker Hill Elementary!!

These sweet boys have made leaps and bounds this past year, both in and out of school! We are so proud of you!!
