🤱🏽 August is National Breastfeeding Month
Breastfeeding is more than a personal decision—it’s a public health issue.
This month, we recognize the vital role of breastfeeding in improving health outcomes for both babies and birthing parents.
🔍 Why It Matters:
▪️ Provides essential nutrients and antibodies to protect infants
▪️ Linked to a lower risk of postpartum depression and improved maternal mental health
▪️ Strengthens the bond between parent and child
▪️ Reduces the risk of asthma, obesity, and certain infections in infants
📣 National Breastfeeding Month is a call to action for:
✔️ Increasing access to lactation consultants and peer support
✔️ Supporting policies that allow time and space for breastfeeding in public and at work
✔️ Ensuring health equity for all families, regardless of background
