This is my mom, Donna. She started hospice service with us about 3 months ago.
Before she chose hospice she had tried a curative treatment for cancer that left her exhausted, in severe pain from side effects and had lost 40lbs over a few months. She never smiled, was frequently depressed and anxious and had no idea what other options were open to her.
Once she understood hospice focuses on comfort through medications, equipment, counseling and spiritual support, she decided to try it.
I’m happy to report she is much more comfortable and able to do activities she enjoys ( Like go outside with her hubby and feed the birds).
She now smiles frequently, reports much less depression and anxiety and has gained another family in the form of Lotus Hospice.
