Is Relief From Menopause Just a Needle Away? 🪡✨
Yesterday, a patient at the clinic shared her frustration: despite taking estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, she was still struggling with post-menopausal symptoms.

Her question:

You’ve probably been told to “eat more protein” after 30.
But what if I told you that weightlifting is even more important?

Yes, your protein needs increase as you age — especially if you’re on a GLP-1 med, in cancer treatment, or recovering from illness.

But let’s not forget:
You can eat all the protein in the world… but without strength training, your muscles won’t know what to do with it.

⚖️ Most women need 1.2g/kg daily (more than the RDA of 0.8), and only elite athletes need 1.8–2.2g/kg.

So do you really need that protein ice cream or shake?
Maybe… but most of us can build a powerful plate from real foods like tofu, legumes, and nuts. 🌱

Here’s the truth no one talks about:

“On Hormones, But Still Not Feeling Like Yourself?”
✦ You’re not crazy. You’re not alone. Let’s talk about what might be going on.

🧬 You passed your “second puberty”…
You’re in perimenopause or postmenopause.
You're on hormone replacement therapy.
✅ Your levels are “normal.”
❌ But you still don’t feel like yourself.

🔍 When HRT isn’t working like it “should”…
There may be deeper reasons.
Let’s uncover what your doctor might have missed.

💪 1️⃣ You might need more choline.
Estrogen decline can affect choline metabolism—key for:
▪️ Muscle mass
▪️ Liver function
▪️ Brain health

2️⃣ Your estrogen might be “bound.”
In some women, HRT increases SHBG (s*x hormone-binding globulin).
⬆ SHBG = ⬇ available estrogen.
You’re getting the dose, but your body can’t use it.

3️⃣ Your estrogen receptors may be inflamed.
Receptors matter.
In some women, poor receptor function leads to:
▪️ Persistent symptoms
▪️ Joint pain
▪️ Brain fog
Even with estrogen on board.

4️⃣ You may not be converting testosterone to estradiol.
Low aromatase activity = less estradiol.
Hormones are complex—and it’s not always about the dose.
