More than 800,000 Americans experience Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) each year and over 6.5 million visits to the emergency department are because of chest pain. From November 17-21, the American Heart Association will dedicate an entire week to raising awareness about ACS. ACS refers to sudden reduced blood flow to the heart, usually caused by erosion or rupture of unstable coronary artery plaque and subsequent thrombosis. Proper management for this condition is key to reducing immediate and long-term complications. Stay tuned for "Get With The Guidelines-Coronary Artery Disease" program with evidence-based ACS treatment. Stay informed, stay engaged and let's make this week impactful! https://www.heart.org/en/
