Until you value yourself, you won’t value your time. This past year I’ve been working on some projects, research, sharing knowledge with my colleagues and some hope for GSD families. I’m so grateful that all my hard work is paying off.

Colombia me recibio con los brazos abiertos una vez más para el
III CONGRESO INTERNACIONAL DE GLUCOGENOSIS HEPATICAS

El pasado mes de Noviembre tuve la oportunidad de ser parte nuevamente por tercer año consecutivo en este magnifico evento creado para educar a familias y colegas de la medicina especializados en , ayudando a mas de 25 familias, brindandoles consultas gratuitas dandoles todos los cuidados necesarios para esta condición.

Siguiendo los protocolos de la universidad baylor college recogimos datos clínicos de todas las familias con el objetivo de estudiar y posteriormente publicar las variantes de esta deficiencia genética.

Gracias a todos por tan hermoso evento.

Glycogen Storage Disease Type X or GSD X

☀️This phosphoglycerate mutase deficiency is a disorder that primarily affects muscles used for movement (skeletal muscles).

☀️Glycogen storage disease is rare in general, occurring in 1 of every 20,000 to 25,000 babies.

☀️Some people with this condition also have recurrent episodes of myoglobinuria. Myoglobinuria occurs when muscle tissue breaks down abnormally and releases a protein called myoglobin, which is processed by the kidneys and released in the urine. If untreated, myoglobinuria can lead to kidney failure.
