ADHD Houston

ADHD Houston ADHD Houston is a state of the art medical practice that uses current research and new technology to diagnose and treat ADHD/ADD and related conditions.

ADHD Houston is a medical practice for children and adults with ADHD and related problems. We provide objective computerized testing, medical treatment as well as behavior modification strategies. The evaluation begins before your first visit. Our staff will walk you through the process of getting the standard assessment forms we need before your visit. At your first visit you will spend 60-90 min

utes at our office, this will allow the doctor and our staff to take a careful history, perform a physical examination and do a Computer-assisted TOVA ADHD test. Before you leave the first visit, our doctor will review the findings, make a diagnosis and provide a treatment plan. You will also receive targeted and up to date educational materials to help you manage any medical or psychological condition that was detected during your evaluation. The first visit is followed by a second appointment in two weeks. Patient portal communication is encouraged between the visits to access treatment success and to troubleshoot any problems before your upcoming visits. We follow patients very closely until we find the right dose and the right medication. During dose optimization you may need to see the doctor monthly but when your ADHD is in remission, routine follow up visits are scheduled every three months on average. Virtual visits are available for all established patients.

Methylphenidate Treatment and Risk of Psychotic Disorder:
This study of national Finnish registry data for individuals with ADHD found no overall relationship between sustained treatment with methylphenidate risk of nonaffective psychosis; in secondary analyses, a potentially protective effect of methylphenidate treatment against later psychosis in children diagnosed with ADHD was found. Further research is needed to evaluate potential effects of treatment in individuals diagnosed in adolescence and adulthood.
