It’s here! ✨

The Resilient Vida Collection is officially LIVE.

This launch is so much more than a collection—it’s for the first-gen community. The ones navigating expectations, breaking cycles, and choosing healing while still holding so much love for where they come from.

Every piece was created with intention… to remind you that your story matters, your growth matters, and the work you’re doing does not go unseen.

Yes—cycle breaker, con amor 💚

You can now shop the collection at www.resilientvida.com/store

Thank you for being here, for supporting, and for continuing to show up for yourself and our community.

Sneak peek ✨

This one is for the first-gen community... the ones carrying so much, navigating systems that weren’t built for us, and still choosing to heal, grow, and show up with love.

What’s launching tomorrow isn’t just a collection… it’s a piece of our story. A reminder that we can honor where we come from while choosing something different for ourselves.

A little hint: cycle breaker, con amor. ❤️

Resilient Vida Collection launches tomorrow.

Today, Resilient Vida Counseling & Wellness turns ONE! I also successfully defended my doctoral dissertation 11 years ago today.

Becoming a first-generation Latina therapist and business owner has been a longstanding goal... one rooted in passion, purpose, and the desire to create something meaningful for my community.

There were moments when life challenges made the journey feel uncertain, but I kept going. I held onto the vision, even when the path wasn’t easy. This practice was a long time in the making... built with intention, resilience, and heart.

Resilient Vida was created to provide support, representation, and culturally responsive care, especially for those who often carry so much silently. Being able to serve our community in this way is truly an honor.

Thank you to everyone who has supported, trusted, and grown with me along the way. This is just the beginning.

To honor year 1, I have special announcements all this week. Please follow and stay tuned.

Exciting news ✨

I will be offering free mental health workshops through my private practice, Resilient Vida Counseling and Wellness.

These workshops are designed with Latinas, first-gen individuals, oldest daughters, and elder millennials in mind, especially those navigating the emotional and practical responsibilities of supporting aging parents.

We’ll be talking about:
• How to navigate complex healthcare systems
• Ways to support your parents’ mental health
• Managing the stress, worry, and responsibility that often comes with caregiving
• Creating balance while still honoring your own needs

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed trying to “figure it all out” for your family, these spaces are for you.

Workshops will be launching soon. Follow my page to stay updated and be the first to register.

You don’t have to navigate this alone.

A special thank you to Anjelica Cazares, founder of Amigas and Friends Network and the Latina Leadership Podcast, for supporting these mental health initiatives.

April is Counseling Awareness Month 💚

Have you wondered what counseling is?

Counseling is a supportive, collaborative space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. It’s about having a place where you feel seen, heard, and empowered to grow.

For first-generation individuals, the journey can come with unique pressures—balancing family expectations, breaking cycles, navigating unfamiliar systems, and often carrying responsibilities that others may not see. Counseling can be a space where you don’t have to explain your whole world... you can just be.

Whether you're navigating stress, life transitions, relationships, grief, or simply feeling overwhelmed, counseling can help you:

✨ Gain clarity and insight
✨ Build healthier coping skills
✨ Set boundaries without guilt
✨ Process generational and cultural experiences
✨ Reconnect with your sense of self

At Resilient Vida Counseling, we honor your story, especially the strength it takes to be a cycle breaker. Our work is rooted in compassion, cultural awareness, and a deep understanding of the first-gen experience.

You don’t have to carry it all alone.

To those in survivorship and remission —
life after cancer can hold relief, fear, gratitude, grief, and uncertainty all at once.

If you’re still processing…
If your body feels different…
If worry quietly returns sometimes…
You are not doing healing “wrong.”

There is no timeline for feeling fully like yourself again.
There is no requirement to be positive all the time.
There is no pressure to move on faster than your heart or body allows.

You are allowed to go gently.
You are allowed to protect your peace.
You are allowed to seek support at any stage of your journey.

Today we honor your strength, your complexity, and your continued healing.
You deserve care that continues long after treatment ends. 🎗️

You grieve...

losing control of your body.

friends who ghosted you.

your life before the chronic illness.

your dreams for the future.

feeling connected to your own body.

the judgments of others.

missing life events.

loss of identity.

In September, I attended the Latina Entrepreneurship Conference hosted by the Latina Leadership Podcast. I had a great time connecting with a wonderful group of Latina counselors and therapists (a few were previous students I had the pleasure of teaching). They are all doing amazing work in the community.

I was also selected to participate in a business pitch and won second place. I'm grateful for the platform provided at the conference to share my goals for Resilient Vida Counseling & Wellness.

In 2026, I will be providing free monthly support groups and low-cost counseling services. For updates on the groups and other mental health initiatives, please follow Resilient Vida Counseling & Wellness.

Last weekend, I participated in NAMIWalks Houston. It was beautiful to see everyone at the event advocating for mental health.

NAMIWalks is a community event (hosted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness) that raises awareness, fights stigma, and supports mental health for all.

The walk is also a beautiful reminder that no one is alone on their journey. Mental health matters, and there is compassionate support.

On my website (link in bio), there is a resource page that lists free NAMI mental health support for those living with disabilities, experiencing caregiving, or working in healthcare settings.

I also had the joy of connecting with two wonderful counselors, Yvonne Frias and Mynika Collins. It was an absolute privilege to be their professor during their graduate studies. It is beautiful to see the meaningful and impactful work they are doing in the community.

Nurses are the heartbeat of our healthcare system—but who's caring for their well-being?

This National Nurses Week, we’re honoring nurses by doing more than saying “thank you.” We’re advocating for real change—like safe staffing ratios, mental health resources, and stigma-free support.

Swipe through to learn how YOU can support the mental health of those who care for us every day.

Tag a nurse. Share the love. Speak up for change.
