Can you still get cavities if you have porcelain veneers?
The answer is yes, but probably not for the reason you think.
Porcelain veneers themselves don't get cavities. However, the natural tooth underneath and around the veneer still can. Wherever the veneer meets your tooth, there's a small seam, and if plaque, sugar, and bacteria build up in that area over time, decay can develop.
The good news? When veneers are bonded to healthy enamel and cared for properly, they're incredibly durable and resistant to problems. That's why daily brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits are just as important after veneers as they were before.
Veneers can transform your smile, but keeping the underlying teeth healthy is what helps that smile last for years to come. 😁✨ Have questions about veneers? Send us a message, we're happy to help.
