"Amma's Pride is a vital, non-fictional story rooted in [Tamil] working-class culture. It chronicles mother Valli's unwavering love and support for her trans daughter, Srija, as Srija fights for legal marriage and acceptance in South India. This film is an essential, rare portrayal of trans joy and unconditional parental allyship against societal pressure. After winning the Best Short Documentary Award at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala, the film is now Oscar-qualified and in competition. This is a tremendous honor and a milestone for Tamil and Indian q***r cinema. The film team is launching a massive global campaign: . This is a 48-hour virtual screening of the film starting on October 11th (National Coming Out Day), and their goal is to reach at least 100,000 viewers and create a collective moment for love, marriage equality, and trans rights. I am personally urging you to help shine a bright light on this important story by pre-ordering a ticket (or two! for less than a cup of coffee) using the early bird 10% discount: https://watchmyfilm.com/movie/ammas-pride and share it with your network.

The American Psychological Association is deeply concerned about the Administration’s recent announcement on autism.

Promoting unsupported scientific theories risks fueling stigma, undermines public trust and distracts from real scientific progress.

California has officially declared Diwali as a State Holiday.
What started as India’s Festival of Lights is now shining on the world’s calendar.

The bill AB 268 was passed in California Assembly and Senate, backed by leaders like Ash Kalra and Dr. Darshana Patel.
Schools and state employees will now have the option to observe Diwali with an official holiday.
Courts will remain open, but the recognition itself marks a historic cultural win.

From New Delhi to New York, from Mumbai to California…
Our lights are no longer bound by borders.
Diwali is now a festival the world celebrates together.

Save this and share with your friends to spread the glow.
