Today’s video captures something truly special — our residents Josephine and Phyllis enjoying a heartfelt conversation during our park outing. Moments like these remind us how powerful meaningful engagement can be.

At Apex Oaks at Clear Lake, our Montessori Method plays a big role in making these experiences possible. The Montessori Method focuses on residents’ remaining strengths, helping them maintain independence, improve cognitive function, and reduce anxiety. By offering structured, purposeful, and person-centered activities, our residents feel empowered, valued, and connected.

This outing didn’t just offer fresh air — it provided brain stimulation, joy, and genuine connection, all of which are essential to enhancing quality of life for those living with dementia.

We are so proud of our residents and grateful for every beautiful moment like this.

Our residents at Apex Oaks at Clear Lake enjoyed a beautiful picnic today at Bay Area Park!

As part of our Outing Committee, our residents meet every month to share ideas and choose the destinations they’re most excited about. This month, they selected a peaceful day at the park — and it couldn’t have been more perfect!

Outings like this offer wonderful benefits for our residents living with dementia. The fresh air, movement, and natural surroundings provide meaningful physical, cognitive, and emotional stimulation, helping them feel more connected and uplifted.

At Apex Oaks at Clear Lake, we are dedicated to supporting our residents’ ideas and independence. We empower them to shape a community that reflects who they are and what brings them joy.

Residets at Apex Oaks at Clear Lake had a wonderful and busy month in October! One of their favorite activities was our Halloween painting and decoration session with Brigitte Snyder from FaithBridge Caregivers. 🧡

Residents had a great time learning how to use paints and brushes to create their own festive designs. These hands-on activities are a big part of our Montessori-inspired program, which focuses on what our residents can still do and helps them relearn lost skills through purposeful engagement and creativity.

Thank you, Brigitte, for sharing your time and talent with our residents — your visit brought smiles and inspiration to everyone! 💛

🎶 Sing-Along Wednesdays with Chaplain Dan! 🎶

One Wednesday each month, our residents look forward to a beautiful Sing-Along session with Chaplain Dan from Essential Care Hospice. It’s always a special time filled with joy, faith, and familiar hymns that warm the heart.

Listening to hymns is especially meaningful for our residents living with dementia — music can awaken memories, bring comfort, and create moments of peace and connection. These songs often spark smiles, conversation, and even a few happy tears. ❤️

Thank you, Chaplain Dan, for sharing your time, music, and ministry with all of us here at Apex Oaks at Clear Lake Memory Care. Your visits truly make a difference!

🎃👻 Halloween Fun & Birthday Celebration at Apex Oaks at Clear Lake! 👻🎃

Our residents had such a wonderful time celebrating a spooktacular Halloween combined with our October birthday party and Trick-or-Treat for our staff’s children! 🧁🍬

Our residents truly enjoyed passing out candy to the little ones—it filled the room with smiles and laughter!

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our amazing staff, sponsors, and families who joined us for this year’s Alzheimer’s Memory Walk. Your support, energy, and compassion truly made a difference!

A special thank-you to Stephanie Fitzgerald for recognizing Apex Oaks at Clear Lake Memory Care and giving us the honor of standing at the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk alongside two families personally touched by this devastating disease. 💕

We’re also deeply grateful to everyone who helped us with fundraising efforts — together, we proudly reached our goal to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association. Every step we take brings us closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. 🦋💪
