You wouldn't need to labor down if you weren't strapped to a bed. If you are permitted to get up do so, move around, baby will fall right into where he or she needs to be.

Accepting help during postpartum does not equal failure in fact it's the complete opposite. Recognizing you have reached your physical/mental capacity makes you self aware/ in tune with your body.
